This magnesium-coil framing nailer from Porter-Cable is a rugged, impressively lightweight piece of equipment, ideal for framers who want the capacity that a coil system offers. The magnesium housing is several pounds lighter than regular models but still offers the durability you'd expect from a job site nailer. Since coil nailers are commonly used for repetitious tasks, a lighter tool is a big plus--especially if you're going to wield it for an entire eight-hour day. Also, its handle is ergonomically designed, and its rubber grip is slip-resistant and comfortable to hold. The nailer has an easy-to-use depth-of-drive adjustment; a powerful, high-performance motor with adjustable exhaust; a refined feed mechanism that includes double cams and guides; and quick-adjust for all nail lengths. This Porter-Cable model accepts standard 15-degree wire-collated coil framing nails from 1-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches. The kit comes with a 1/4-inch NPT air inlet and 1/4-inch male quick coupler (with dust cover), oil for the nailer, wrenches, and an operating manual. --Jonathon Tudor
